Elevation Lab

Hello! My name is Samantha and I started Elevation Lab as an umbrella for all things aerial and pole dance. Based primarily in Hastings and London, UK, but with the ability to travel internationally, taking my courses, classes & performances wherever they are needed!

My mission is to inspire and empower people with these beautiful dance and art forms. I offer a wide range of classes for both adults and children, aerial teacher training courses and 1-2-1 coaching to get you ready to perform in one of my showcases or your own performance space.

I am also an internationally recognised performer, with a wealth of knowledge and experience, available for paid bookings at festivals, clubs, events, parties & weddings!

We’ve got ANOTHER special offering for you as we continue to raise funds for our new equipment at the Humble Hub. A mini Aerial intensive that will utilise both Sam & Cherry’s breadth of knowledge and experience to enrich your aerial experience.

We will start with an Active flexibility warm up led by Cherry that will contain secrets and drills to take away that will help you on your journey to becoming a brilliantly strong AND flexy Aerialist.

Then we will lead you through a sequence of Aerial Hoop and Sling poses & combos that will be perfectly instagrammable and super fun. We’ll select the best level appropriate poses for each apparatus and put you in position for a cute snap if you wish!

Sam and Cherry will guide you through how to make the best of each pose and combo so you can really refine your technique and grab the perfect shot if you want it. Whatever your aerial level, we’ll have something for you!

Then we will conclude with a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating aerial yoga style cool down and relaxation led by Sam, utilising the sling, bringing our lovely little mini intensive to a close.

Please wear something comfortable and not too loose so as not to get caught up in the equipment. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Wow wow wow! Where do I even begin?

In July I started my kids aerial classes @humblehub_stleonards and was so happy to see how many wonderful children showed up each week. After a month or so, one of my regular students asked if we could put on a show for the parents at the end of the year and I said ‘absolutely yes’.

I am so overwhelmed with the love and support shown on Saturday from my wonderful performers and their family and friends, the show was such a success that I cannot wait to put on another one!

Thank you so much to everyone that gave donations! We raised enough for some of the equipment we need at the studio, which is great news!

In this stripper style pole class you will learn how to connect with your body, and how to move in an authentic way to empower you to be more confident on and off the pole. Think slow, gooey movements that are easy on the body but look incredible.

#mentalhealthawarenessweek For the longest time, so long that I can’t remember a time without it, I’ve suffered crippling anxiety and depression. It comes in waves. Sometimes it stays for days at a time, sometimes a fleeting visit... sometimes a week will go by without and I think ‘maybe it won’t ever come back’.... then, out of nowhere, and often for no good reason, that cloudy feeling, the one where you feel foggy in the brain and nauseous and panicked, it will return. Try and pin point why you’re feeling it and often times you can’t, everything and nothing. All at once. People will say ‘cheer up, can’t be that bad’ and the problem is that it really IS that bad, but what is bad you don’t truly know. I feel guilty, because what do I have to be sad about? I’m so lucky and privileged, I always count my blessings, but something in my brain just doesn’t work.
It’s so important that we have started talking more openly about mental health and treating it with the severity that it deserves. Acknowledgement of these illnesses can save lives. I know a lot of you on here, friends and strangers, will be suffering in some way and I’m just here to use my platform to bring awareness, so that you maybe feel less alone, so that you know it’s ok to feel that way, that you shouldn’t be ashamed of it and that many many many millions of us suffer the same.
I don’t know if it’s worse for this generation or if we just talk about our feelings more, but I hope things start to change and help becomes more readily available. The thought of Roman ever feeling the hopelessness of depression, the bleak feeling of not wanting to exist, the panic stricken, clammy handed, motion sickness of anxiety, terrifies me.

On today’s edition of ‘things that were infinitely better about 2019’ coming back to aerial after Roman was born, really really hard but something I had been longing for since I stopped at 5 months pregnant, now I’m longing for it again 😭

Dreaming of the holibobs we had to cancel 😅

So since 2020 is becoming a bit of a write off, I’m going to post a series of my favourite memories from 2019 aka the best year of my life.
Up first is Romans first concert, I’ve always prided myself on being pretty cool when it comes to my experiences in music and Tony, well, he’s obviously way cooler than me, but ROMAN now let me tell you about Roman. At 6 months old his first ever concert was backstage at Wembley stadium for @pink and @bangbangromeo because his daddy was tour managing on the tour.
It was the hottest day of the year and we hadn’t seen @terrormusicldn for almost a month and we trapped from Hackney to Wembley to hang out at the show. This is one of my favourite ever photos of all 3 of us 🖤
